Fully Automated High Speed Book Blocks

The K8RS-Digital Roll To Book Block Production System from MBO America is our top of the line system with highest levels of automation geared for the book printer.  It is an efficient, high speed roll-to-book finishing line designed to have a simple set up and high production rate.  The system is designed for 20.5”, 22.5″ or 30″ web widths.  The system will cut the web to the proper sheet length using a chop-cut or chip-out cut depending upon the need.  The sheet can be cut from 5” long to 48” long to match the unfolded length of the signatures.  Print to cut register control is achieved by a print register mark on the web and the sheeter will register in real time for all cuts.  After sheeting, the line will register the sheet and advance it to the folding system that consists of buckle plates and knife folders capable of making signatures from the sheets ready for block stacking.  The signatures are transferred to the stacker in order to make book blocks and additionally glue them if needed.  The system will have the capability to make all common A4 and A5 size signatures such as 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 and 32 page products.  Slitters and other tooling integral to the buckle folders will also allow enhancements to the sheet such as spine perfs.  The near-line system has a maximum web sheeting speed of 824 fpm but is also dependent upon factors such as paper quality, operator capability, environment and other factors.  This is a fully automated system with push button setup of the folding and sheeting units creating a very fast makeready and highly productive book block production system.
